A GUIDE TO GRILLING SALMON
It takes about 15 minutes to grill a salmon fillet from start to finish!
- Prepare your salmon by cutting it into individual pieces before grilling. That will make it much easier to flip! I find that sharp kitchen shears work much better than a knife for cutting through the fish skin.
- Prepare the coals for the grill by heating them to medium-high heat. I find that cooking the salmon over medium heat (about 350°F-400°F) gives it that delicious, charred exterior while keeping the inside moist and tender.
- Drizzle olive oil over the salmon before seasoning. This will prevent the fish from sticking to the grill, and it helps to create a crispy exterior.
- You should grill the salmon for 5 minutes on each side. The fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork.
